There’s nothing more effective than sitting down and planning your upcoming month. I usually do it by using these questions that I ask myself at the beginning of every month.
I love the beginning of each month. Every month has its own vibe, April feels like the beginning of spring, July brings summer, September has a back to school vibe and October means that the leaves are changing color.
The beginning of a month almost feels like a clean slate, where you can set new goals and new habits for yourself by looking at the last months. It can almost feel like a new year and the good news is that there are twelve of these during the year!
At the start of the new month, I love sitting down and reflecting on how I want my next month to go by asking myself how I want to feel and what would I need to feel good during the month.
Here are some questions to soulfully help you uncover how to plan your next month.
How do I want to feel during this month?
This question will help uncover how you want to feel and at the same time will uncover what you have to do to feel this way. It will help you see clearly on what you should prioritize and what to make more time for.
Where do I want to be at the end of the month?
What do you want to have accomplished by the end of the month? If you’re working on a project or on your online business where do you want it to be by the last days of the month? Your answer will help you uncover what action you should take to get from where you are at the beginning of the month to where you want to be at the end of the month.
What would make this month satisfying?
What is the minimum you have to accomplish for you to be satisfied with yourself at the end of the month? Your answer will show you what your priorities are for this month.
What would make this month fun?
Since we are supposed to live and not simply exist, what would make you have a great, fun month? Your answer will help you see what activities you’ll need to incorporate to your month to fulfill your «fun» requirement.
What would I regret if I didn’t do it during this month?
What experiences do you want to have that you didn’t have yet? Is it something out of your comfort zone that you keep pushing to another day?
How can I nourish my soul and my body during this month?
For your body: Is there a type of food you want to incorporate more into your diet during the month? To nourish your soul: Do you want to spend more time meditating or reading books?
What advice would I give to myself to have a great month?
For this one, think if all that went well and that you managed to do, all the things you wanted to do this month, what advice would you give to your «beginning of the month self»? Since right now you are motivated and planning everything to have a great fulfilling month, what advice do you want to give to yourself when you won’t feel as motivated as you are feeling right now?
What budget or expenses are needed for this month?
Do you have bills to pay this month? Are you having some big expenses to pay during the month? Do you want to save money during the month?
What are the events coming up that I’m looking up to?
Do you have or need to schedule an appointment? Are there any upcoming birthdays? Is there a holiday that you are looking forward to?
What do I need to do prior to the beginning of the month to ensure my success?
This one is all about setting yourself up to success. Do you want to clean up your wardrobe? Clean your purse or wallet? Wash your bedsheets? Do you want to finish a certain task before the beginning of the month?

Now, you should have a pretty good idea of what you want to focus on this month from your answers to the previous questions. You can set your new goals and new habits into a tracking sheet or in your planner. Take your planner or a sheet and write it down!
